"My horse is on part livery at Maple Farm. Whilst he's one of the younger boys in the paddock, he's been through a tricky time of being rehabilitated for feet and back issues. Colleen and the team have been particularly supportive and nothing has been too much trouble. The yard is calm, friendly and welcoming and the horses are clearly very happy and contented. I'd highly recommend Colleen, the stables and the team - they treat each horse as if it's their own and I feel lucky to have found them."

"Having decided to retire Badger after ten years of having him, I wanted to find somewhere special for him. I was planning on looking at a number of yards but after visiting colleens first off, it just felt perfect for him.
He settled in so well and slotted in to living out, so much so I think he forgot he ever had a stable and that he was in his twenties!
Colleens and the teams care for him was exceptional and nothing was ever too much to ask. I certainly would have no reservations in recommending Maple Farm"

"Having kept horses all our lives and used different livery yards, Maple Farm Stables is by far the best one. Our horses are treated as one of the family. The staff go that extra mile to ensure they are cared for and happy. But most all, you can see that Colleen and her staff genuine love them all"

"I had to fully retire my mare Galaxy 2 years ago due to suspensory ligament problems wanted somewhere she could live out 24/7 but would still be cared for properly. Maple Farm has been perfect for her - she receives individual care and attention and nothing is ever too much trouble for Colleen and her lovely team. Galaxy is very happy as the setting is so peaceful and she is very chilled out. I never worry about her as I know she has lots of hay and warm rugs in winter and fly protection and shade in the summer. Colleen sends some lovely photos and is always happy to answer any queries and go the extra mile if needed. I'm really glad I found Maple Farm as it is perfect for Galaxy and provides peace of mind for me."

"I've owned Baloo since he was four, so for the last sixteen years. He is a 16.3 Danish warmblood and quite bear-like, hence his name! He was the first horse I ever trained to advanced dressage, making a lot of mistakes along the way, and he is the kindest and most genuine horse I have ever known. He was a typical competition horse and hadn't been kept in the most natural environment so I was very worried about how easily he would adapt to retired life. I needn't have worried as Colleen and the team at Maple Farm did an incredible job helping him make that transition. They are so knowledgable and caring - they look after him as well as I would myself which I never thought I would be able to say about a livery yard. He is now happy, hairy and living out 24/7 with his girlfriend! I feel very lucky to have found Maple Farm for him - thank you Colleen and the Maple Farm team for taking such good care of my very precious pony."

"We took a gamble flying our horse from Hong Kong to UK to retire but we have been so lucky to find Maple Farm. Whenever we visit our horse looks so happy and content and Colleen frequently sends photos and updates. She loves the horses, takes the time to find out everything about them and nothing is too much trouble. Such a great place!"

"I kept my ex police horse Atlanta at Maple Farm from his retirement in 2008 until his death in 2013. Maple Farm is quite simply an equine paradise. Peaceful, tranquil with grass in abundance!!!!! Colleen looks after all her 'residents' like her own. They want for nothing! It is one of the few yards I've been on where I took a 3 week holiday abroad and did not worry about Atlanta once. When I came back he was as I left him happy and well. I currently have an 18 yr old who is still in active work but when the time comes I will be booking a place at Maple Farm."

“My husband and I have had two horses stay at Maple Farm Stables. Our younger mare Zaffie was suffering with intermittent lameness with an unknown cause so with the advice of my vet we decided to turn her away for some R&R to see if that would help. We scoured the websites for a suitable yard to place her in and we must have looked at 10-12 places but Maple Farm Stables stood out from the rest because the staff obviously really cared, the pasture was fantastic and the horses were clearly the absolute priority. On arrival at Maple Farm Stables she was carefully introduced to the other horses but unfortunately very quickly the intermittent lameness got significantly worse and she was diagnosed with late stage Wobblers. This is a very difficult disease to diagnose in its early stages but once in the later stages affected horses become very difficult to look after. Despite this the team at the yard along with the local vets Shotter & Byers did everything for her whilst she was in their care and supported myself and my husband through what was a fairly awful time. Shortly after I also had Bess my older mare stay here whilst I was recovering from an injury myself and unable to ride her properly, she was extremely happy and well looked after and despite a hard winter that year was fit and healthy throughout. Bess is 19 next year, she is currently in full work and loving it but the day she decides she has had enough or that decision is made for her through injury or ill health I would not hesitate to contact Colleen and the team to book her a space at the yard for her retirement. I only wish I could find a five star hotel like this for my eventual retirement one day!”
